OUR FOUNDER

Ghislaine León is a brand and marketing executive, cultural strategist, and founder of Latin Quarter.

With 16+ years across media, advertising, entertainment, talent, and production, she has built and activated 25+ brand programs generating more than $30MM in revenue for companies including Target, McDonald’s, State Farm, Xfinity, Doritos, Ally, L’Oréal, and others.

Her work sits at the intersection of culture and commerce—developing partnerships, content, talent strategies, and experiences that help brands earn relevance with the audiences shaping what’s next.

At REVOLT, Ghislaine led a $20MM+ branded content portfolio and helped build BET ON BLACK with Target, a $10M+ multi-year partnership that became one of the platform’s flagship franchises. She has also developed campaigns and cultural programming across sports, music, food, fashion, and entertainment.

Her experience extends from strategy into execution. Most recently, as Director of Brand Partnerships & Production at Collective Casting & MGMT, she worked across commercial casting and production for Target, Starter, L’Oréal, Redken, Olaplex, Ulta Beauty, Project Runway, and major-label music projects.

Ghislaine founded Latin Quarter to bring that experience together: helping brands, founders, athletes, and cultural talent build meaningful partnerships and create work that matters.

OUR STORY

Every culture has a room where it finds itself.

For me, that story starts on the Upper West Side.

I went to P.S. 84 on West 92nd Street, where I learned to play the congas from a Puerto Rican music teacher. I was a kid growing up in New York, surrounded by the sounds and intersections of Black and Latin culture without yet having the language to understand how deeply they were connected.

Years later, I learned there had been a Latin Quarter just a few blocks away, on Broadway and 96th Street. By then, the name already meant something to me. It felt like one of those New York full-circle moments — a place I had unknowingly been connected to as a child, and a name that would eventually become the foundation for my own work in culture.

But the Latin Quarter had a much bigger story.

In the 1980s, the Latin Quarter at 200 West 48th Street became one of New York's defining hip-hop rooms. What had once been a Times Square nightclub became a proving ground for a new generation of artists, with the Awesome 2 and hip-hop impresario Paradise Gray helping shape the room into an institution. KRS-One, Eric B. & Rakim, Queen Latifah, Public Enemy, A Tribe Called Quest and countless others passed through its doors.

Record-label A&Rs worked the room, looking for whoever could command it. An unknown could walk in on a Friday and leave with a different future. The club also became an important gathering point for the Stop the Violence Movement.

Paradise Gray, who helped build that room, was raised in the South Bronx — where hip-hop was born, and where Black and Latin New York have always shared the same blocks, the same stoops, the same sounds, and often the same families.

That lineage is personal to me.

Latin Quarter Collective exists for the rooms that come next — the places where culture gathers, ideas take shape, talent gets discovered, and the next chapter begins. We build the strategy, relationships, experiences, and visibility to help make sure the right people are in the room when it happens.
