OUR STORY
Our name pays homage to The Latin Quarter — the storied New York City nightclub that, since the 1940s, has pulsed at the intersection of rhythm and revolution. In its earliest days, icons draped in silk and sequins commanded the stage. By the 1980s and 90s, the space had transformed into a sanctuary where hip hop collided with salsa, merengue kept the dance floors alive, and Black and Latinx audiences redefined what it meant to own the night. The Latin Quarter was more than entertainment — it was expression, education, and emergence.
But our inspiration reaches even further back — to the original Quartier Latin in Paris. There, in smoky cabarets and cafés, Afro-Caribbean thinkers, musicians, and poets gathered to imagine a freer, more expressive world. These creative hubs weren’t just social scenes; they were laboratories for art, identity, and resistance — places where beauty, intellect, and rhythm intertwined.
We are the largest, youngest, and fastest-growing demographic in America. We fuel economies, shape culture, and drive trends—yet we remain systematically undervalued and underserved. The numbers tell a story of power ignored and potential squandered.
